Granny Hexagons

Viaan's Blanket 1One of the guys in my office’s wife was pregnant….her first child.  She had gone crazy with Pink!  Apparently there was pink everywhere.  Since we all knew that she was expecting a girl, it seemed obvious that I should make a pink baby blanket as a gift.  I thought I’d go for something totally new….Hexagon grannies.

Well, never again, my friends!  Sitching these little puppies together was NOT fun!  There was SOOOO much of it!  There are plenty of patterns online, I followed this one here.

I didn’t want ‘uneven’ borders so had to some up with a half hexagon, so figured out the below:

8 Ply Wool

Ch = Chain.
Dc = Double crochet.
Rep = Repeat.
Sl st = Slip stitch.
Sp = Space

Note: Ch 3 at beg of round counts as dc. Use 5 mm (H) US Stitches

Round 1: Magic Ring, Ch 3, dc 2, ch 3, dc3, ch3, dc 3, turn.
Round 2: Ch 3, dc 2 in same sp. *Dc 3, ch 3, dc 3 in next 3ch sp*, rep * to * once. Dc3 in top of ch of previous round, turn.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same sp. *Dc 3, in next sp.  Dc 2, ch 2, dc 2 in next 3ch sp. Round*, rep * to * once. Dc 2 in to of ch of previous round.  Finish.
